Why are decisions of social law arbitration boards accepted – even in the face of major conflicts of inter-est? This book offers a well-founded and practice-oriented answer at the intersection of legal and social sciences. Based on expert interviews and an analysis of literature and case law, the study develops a model—using the examples of integration assistance and long-term care—that explains the acceptance of procedural outcomes through legitimising mechanisms within arbitration boards, coordination processes, network resources and dynamics, as well as broader environmental factors.
