Die audiovisuelle Dokumentation der strafgerichtlichen Hauptverhandlung

This thesis makes a key contribution to the debate on reforming the digital documentation of criminal court hearings. Based on an analysis of the current state of empirical research, the author critically assesses the expectations placed on audiovisual documentation. She pays particular attention to the question of which insights can be gained from audiovisual recordings of interrogations in preliminary proceedings for the documentation of criminal trials, taking into account the results of studies in forensic psychology. On this basis, the author evaluates the German draft legislation on the so-called Hauptverhandlungsdokumentationsgesetz. She recommends pure audio recording and develops her own regulatory proposals.
