Die Aufklärung sexualisierter Gewalt in der katholischen Kirche Frankreichs

Sexual violence in the Catholic Church is a global problem. Since the 2010s at the latest, awareness of this issue has also grown in Europe. In countries such as Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany, and France, projects have since been launched to investigate the causes and assess the extent of the problem. However, there has been no international exchange on this issue to date. This work aims to remedy this deficit by making the French investigative project, the so-called CIASE report, accessible to a German audience. With a focus on the legal relationship between the state and the church, the approach in France is analysed and compared with the approach in Germany in specific areas.
