In recent years, many states have added provisions to their nationality laws that allow for the deprivation of nationality for individuals involved in terrorist activities. This work first examines the historical precursors of today's laws on the deprivation of nationality from antiquity to the present day, before comparing the current regulations of France, the United Kingdom and Germany. On this basis, the - often historically shaped - restrictions of state powers regarding the deprivation of nationality resulting from international, European and German constitutional law are then analyzed.
