Die Auswirkungen fragiler Staatlichkeit auf internationale Investitionsschutzabkommen

As a relatively young field of law, international investment protection law shows a number of gaps in terms of general international law issues, such as the real-life problem of state fragility. This work examines the most relevant protection standards of international investment agreements in the context of state fragility, focusing on the standards of full protection and security (FPS) and fair and equitable treatment (FET). In addition, the author provides a conceptual understanding of state fragility from a purely legal perspective, using the type concepts of failed state and failing state as starting points.
