Die Bedeutung des Arbeitszeitgesetzes für angestellte Rechtsanwälte

The thesis addresses the question of whether the working hours of salaried attorneys are in line with existing legal requirements. In the first part, the regulations of the German Hours of Work Act are examined. This includes a consideration of the special features of the profession of lawyers and the conflicting strict legal requirements. In the course, it is examined whether lawyers can be excluded from the scope of the law’s application and whether a waiver of the mandatory legal protection is possible. In the second part, selected provisions of Directive 2003/88/EC are examined regarding to potential opportunities for lawyers.
