Description
This volume deals with the various strategies for overcoming the gas crisis triggered by the Russian attack on Ukraine. Due to the lack of Russian gas, there was a risk of a gas shortage, and the rising prices placed a massive burden on both the economy and households. The EU responded with a series of crisis regulations to secure supplies and ease the burden on the economy and households. Coordination and solidarity between the member states was an essential element for the success of such measures. It also analyses the EU's internal market and the accelerated approval procedures to speed up the expansion of renewable energies, which ultimately contributed to the energy transition.
