Sebastian Höppner examines the effects for societates Europaeae based in Germany of the regulations on gender and female quota introduced by the German legislator. The author offers an introduction to the problems that arise due to the integration of SEs into European law and analyzes the compatibility of the created quota regulations with this framework. In formal terms, the focus lies on working out the legislative powers within the framework of a hierarchy of norms prescribed by European law. From a material point of view, the focus of the investigation lies on the analysis of characteristics related to the organizational form of the SE, and their effects with regards to quota regulations.
