Die Governance von Multistakeholder-Initiativen

This book provides detailed insights into the activities of a German multistakeholder initiative (MSI) in the cocoa and chocolate sector. In such initiatives, private, public and civil society organisations come together to solve sustainability issues on a global scale. Networked action requires common goals, but they must be negotiated with respect to the inherent heterogeneity of the participating organisations. This is where this case study comes in as it explores the bargaining practices and outcomes achieved by an MSI by elaborating and empirically implementing the concept of network governance.
