The thesis provides a fully comprehensive and practice-oriented insight into liability risks of board members in the context of cyber attacks. Its goal is to reduce the existing legal uncertainty in this field by setting out the statutory framework, deriving legally required prevention as well as response measures to ensure proper cyber compliance and putting them into a liability context. In the course of the dissertation, solutions for various complex legal issues in the field of corporate cyber security are presented, which are at the interface of company law, data protection law as well as insurance law.
The author himself is a lawyer and advises companies, among other things, on the legally compliant management of cyber incidents.
