Description
We live in times of polycrisis in which emotions and affects—from anger and outrage to fear, passion, and empathy—play a central role. They shape not only private relationships but also politics, universities, and the economy. Emotions have long become embedded in the late-modern world of work and have condensed into emotional regimes that significantly shape work structures and organizational cultures. At the same time, emotions are deliberately mobilized, regulated, and economically exploited. This volume explores the power of emotions and affects in organizations and work contexts and analyzes their mobilization, instrumentalization, and economization from a sociology of work and organizations as well as a gender- and diversity-critical perspective.
