Using an interdisciplinary approach, this thesis examines the choice of the correct company valuation method in cash compensation cases under stock corporation law. In addition to the economic status quo, the legal requirements and current case law are analyzed in detail. The stock market price is discussed not only as a minimum price, but also as an approximation of the enterprise value. The comparative legal view of the USA reveals significant differences in the legal and economic spheres. As a result, the author argues for a more quantitative approach in the choice of method, since no method is currently qualitatively superior.
