In the age of digitalization, the legal duties of software manufacturers to maintain safety are one of the central issues. As a core element of liability in tort law, these duties are crucial to the question of claims against software manufacturers for software vulnerabilities. At a closer look, it quickly becomes clear that the legal duties to maintain safety can hardly be determined in the area of software development. This work analyzes these duties in more detail and deals, among other things, with the question of whether there is a need to create an IT product safety act. As one of few legal works, the book illuminates this specific topic at the interface between law, IT and economy.
