Die Prospect Theory und der israelisch-iranische Nuklearkonflikt

International diplomacy has been working for decades to contain Iran´s nuclear and missile programme, without significant progress thus far. Israel, in contrast, relies on a posture of strength and freedom of action.
This timely analysis through the lens of prospect theory suggests that Israeli leaders could be deviating from a rational assessment of the unpredictable consequences of Iran’s nuclear programme, instead favouring preventive military action in order to contain the potential threat posed by an Iran with nuclear capabilities. Thus, the inclusion of psychological arguments into this book is intended to raise awareness about the Israeli dilemma in decision-making and highlight the instability of the current situation without an international nuclear agreement.
