Die rechtliche Behandlung der Wiederansiedlung des Wolfes

The return of the wolf presents a systematic challenge to species protection law. Based on an interdisciplinary examination of the ecological, social and legal framework conditions, the dogmatic limits of the current species protection law and the practical shortcomings of management are highlighted. Particular attention is paid to the design of a legally secure and socially acceptable wolf management system.

The downgrading of the wolf's protection status confirms the core thesis of this dissertation: species protection must be understood as a dynamic control instrument that takes equal account of ecological stability, social acceptance and federal differences.
