The work examines subsidizing mobile phone contracts. This is the business model of offering consumers a cheaper mobile phone for entering a two-year mobile phone contract. The thesis analyzes its legal treatment, and opposes the frequently used classification as a consumer loan in the form of an other nongratuitous financing assistance. Another main focus is the investigation of the effect of infringements of contractual obligations in one of the two contracts on the other contract in the case of such combined offers. Since sales promotion with discounts is used in all areas of the B2C business, the findings of this thesis are of wider importance beyond mobile phone contracts.
