Details
Basic knowledge about statistical thinking and argumentation, as well as methods of quantitative data analysis, are now considered key skills in nearly every occupation, and that even applies to legal professions. Methods applied in both statistics and jurisprudence aim to reduce uncertainty in decision-making processes, and this is just one way in which statistical methods are increasingly encroaching on jurisprudence. The conclusion that can be drawn from this is that quantitative statistical methods should be part of legal education in order that this external knowledge can be applied correctly and the findings interpreted clearly. This can therefore improve the process of legal decision-making and facilitate the importation of knowledge from other disciplines into legal studies.
