Die Stiefkindadoption de lege lata et de lege ferenda

The subject of the dissertation is stepchild adoption, which is becoming increasingly popular. After a historical examination, it takes a comprehensive look at stepchild adoption from a legal and social perspective for all constellations that occur in practice (in particular also in the case of using a surrogate mother or sperm donation) as well as its opportunities and challenges for the law. In addition to a further examination of the constitutional and international legal framework, the work is dedicated to a comparative analysis of Austrian, Swiss, French and English law. The dissertation concludes with concrete legislative recommendations for a reform of modern adoption law and is intended to make a contribution to this.
