The thesis evaluates of the reform of sexual criminal law introduced in 2016, in particular the "no means no" solution.
It discusses the altered understanding of the protected right to sexual self-determination and analyses the dogmatics of the new Section 177 StGB. In addition, it examines how the reform has affected criminal investigations by analyzing case files and conducting interviews with prosecutors.
Based on the results of the study further possible reforms of sexual criminal law, such as the introduction of a "(only) yes means yes" solution or the implementation of a negligent sexual offence are discussed.
