Description
Despite technical methods and artificial research objects, scientific legitimation nev-ertheless expresses a need for originality. Through retrospective inscription, artefacts are also justified as natural, e.g. in publications. This form of legitimation is called the 'technogenic naturalness of the artificial'. Based on the philosophy of nature, the philosophy of science and artefact theory, this book examines the research objects of lasers, the Higgs boson and Q source, a reconstructed gospel source, in this respect. This figure of legitimation is evident in all discourses. The book also discusses whether the ambivalence between artificiality and naturalness can be avoided through prior philosophical reflection.
