Die transnationale Erinnerungskultur in Europa

Through the literary de-differentiation of facts and fictions, event and structure, there is an actualisation of the past. The convergence of different lifeworlds and cultures that coexist within the framework of the European community enables the transition from national to transnational culture of remembrance. The study focuses on the interest in how a new, transnationally shaped culture of memory is emerging after 1990. On the basis of synchronicity and interdisciplinarity, the study will make a significant contribution to the understanding of literature in its community-building function as a guardian of transnational European memories and as a cultural mediator between East and West.
