Die Unionsbürgerschaft als „europäische Sozialbürgerschaft"

Do EU citizens have a right to social inclusion in other EU Member States that do not correspond to their nationality?
The dissertation undertakes an analysis of the inclusion of EU citizens in the social security systems of the Member States. This includes as a basis the history of European social law in legislative and judicial terms and, building on this, the presentation of the current status of European law. Against this background, the legal situations in the Federal Republic of Germany and the Republic of Austria are presented and examined for their compatibility with EU law. Finally, a path towards an EU-wide regime for the guarantee of subsistence is worked out.
