Description
Adolescence is the age of transition between a mostly naïve, trusting, albeit not always problem-free and relaxed childhood and the physical and emotional maturity desired and enforced by society.
How is adolescence portrayed in literature? And since when? In addition to precursors such as Goethe, Moritz, Musil, Hesse, Grass and Plenzdorf, the present study focuses on relevant works by current representatives of the adolescent novel such as Herrndorf, Mohl, Travnicek, Hochgatterer, Bach and Güntner, which are primarily dedicated to the implicit utopian thought patterns.
Many themes and disciplines flow together and complement each other: adolescence and youth problems, children's, youth and adult literature, psychology, philosophy and sociology, utopia and dystopia.
