The analysis deals with the protective mechanisms to which the private client is currently entitled to, to ensure the fulfilment of a construction contract. After the author elaborates on the risk profile of the private client and identifies the typically found multi protection as economically inefficient in the case of stepped construction contracts, he addresses the question of solving the problem with an insurance cover. In doing so, the author shows the abstract requirements for this insurance cover and then submits a concrete proposal on the feasibility of such a cover which includes all companies involved in the construction process. The author does not only investigate the legal structure of an ensuing property-related insurance cover but also shows the required premium level. Finally, the chances of the market acceptance of this specific type of insurance cover are assessed.
