This anthology offers an innovative public administration-driven perspective on the policy field of domestic security. In doing so, it provides an interdisciplinary overview of structures, processes, technologies and personnel policies of police and security organizations at national and international levels. It emphasizes both academic and practice-oriented expertise equally. In addition to discussing fundamental questions in regard to the relationship of public administration and police studies, this anthology examines the cooperation between federal, state and local level, the increasing internationalization and Europeanization of security matters, strategies of personnel policies in security organizations and perspectives on smart police work. This volume stems from contributions to the German Section of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences’ General Conference which was held at the German Police University in Münster at the end of 2019.
