Die völker- und verfassungsrechtlichen Grenzen menschenrechtlicher Regulierung internationaler Lieferketten

In the context of global value chains, corporate activities repeatedly result in human rights infringements. The author examines how states – particularly the home state – can, from the perspective of international and constitutional law, obligate companies to exercise human rights due diligence, and what legal limits they face in doing so. The focus lies on the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act, the requirements of which are analysed in detail. A supplementary look at selected African states highlights current legislative developments aimed at strengthening human rights protection.
