This book is dedicated to the provisional decisions in the law on subsistence benefits in an academic and practical manner. In order to resolve the tension between the current coverage of needs and the constitutional prohibition of favoritism “on suspicion” in basic security law, these are as omnipresent as they are complexly regulated. Based on the concept of (only) procedural independence of the provisional decision, the book provides answers to a large number of questions related to the provisional decisions themselves, their replacement by the final determination of benefits and their processing through offsetting, balancing and the reimbursement of overpaid benefits
