The recent entry into force of a legislative package on digital regulation at European level raises the question of the extent to which the relevant provisions in the three areas of data, platforms and artificial intelligence form a coherent regulatory framework, or merely a collection of individual regulations. With contributions from leading voices in regulatory and competition law, this conference proceedings volume offers valuable insights into the current academic debate. In addition to the fundamentals of digital regulation, the sub-areas are examined in greater detail, before the focus shifts to the formation of a system and the emergence of a new field of law with a definable regulatory scope and its own sources of law.
