Description
Disease Interception is based on the idea of stopping the development of diseases before the clinical manifestation by providing a targeted (medical) intervention. The concept is located between the categories of prevention and treatment of illness and addresses a new group of people: those who are no longer completely healthy, but who are not yet ill in the traditional sense implying a lack of symptoms or functional impairment. The articles focus on the framework needed for the development and application of Disease Interception, in particular the use of health data and digitalization, but also on the patients' perspective, the ethical implications, and the law of statutory health insurance.
