Description
Nora Kießer explores how former foster children draw on their biographical experiences in their roles as foster parents, and examines the significance of these experiences for foster care practice. Through biographical-narrative interviews with foster mothers, the author demonstrates that experiences as a foster child significantly influence how the role of foster parent is shaped. The interviewees aim to provide their foster children with greater security, support and reliability, while breaking intergenerational patterns of adverse relationships. The author then derives recommendations for action in both research and practice from this.
