Ehrung und Erinnerung durch Namensgebung

Even for the relatively young field of remembrance culture, “honoring and remembering through naming”, no generally valid statements can be made or strategies for action provided. Each case requires in-depth research and a final consideration of all the arguments for and against naming, renaming or renaming again. Two articles deal with this topic: an overview provides an analysis and possible ways of dealing with the issue. In addition, a research paper on a current case in Allersberg in Franconia presents a source-based research, which ideally contributes to an objectification of the discussion and can serve as a model for similar cases.
