Insults in social networks – not only an issue for the prosecutor but also for the labour lawyer. The handling of this phenomenon and its numerous facets occasionally seems little calculable. Against this background, the author at first carves out basically, why and to what extent libels can constitute breaches of obligation in the employment. Thereafter, the findings are transferred on social networks and numerous practical questions are examined. Does privacy exist in the web? How is a click on the „like button“ legally classified? What problems of evidence occur? The author generates guidelines and demonstrates on the basis of numerous constellations that it is not necessary to reinvent the wheel.
