'Eine Stufentheorie der Migrationsethik' (A Staged Theory of Migration Ethics) offers an approach to making sense of the complex discourses on migration ethics and thus contributes to the systematisation of the dynamic discipline of 'migration ethics'. This work methodically distinguishes between different levels of discourse, which enables not only a critical appraisal of different approaches, but also an analysis of their concrete significance. In this process, the book adopts a stance, for example, on the abstract academic debates on global freedom of movement, the trade-offs between global and national justice and concrete ethical issues such as deportation.
