Emergenz und Koordination von Datenräumen

The governance of data circulation in the EU is enacted through the construction of 'Data Spaces' – an emerging technological field characterized by complex negotiations among actors from industry, academia, and politics. The dissertation demonstrates that infrastructuring has become a central mechanism in the reorganization of European data policy. Grounded in extensive empirical research, it reconstructs the sociotechnical imaginaries shaping this process and examines how governance structures for data collaborations are constituted. The findings open new avenues for interdisciplinary research on data infrastructures and for the practical design of Data Spaces.
