In its 9th Energy Sector Report, the Monopolies Commission analyzes the competitive situation in various areas of the energy industry. In the gas market, the Monopolies Commission recommends measures to strengthen security of supply at the wholesale level and to promote competition in the consumer sector. In terms of electricity market design, the Monopolies Commission proposes the establishment of a competition-based capacity market in order to secure the electricity supply in the long term. The report also gives recommendations for strengthening competition in the charging station market, for example by creating a central market transparency directory. The Monopolies Commission also analyzes the effects of the recent fuel subsidies.
