To promote involvement in art associations and identify current developments and challenges, it is essential to understand the structure and working methods of volunteers. René Korth provides an overview of the socio-structural characteristics, time commitment, fields of activity and motivational factors of those involved in art associations in Baden-Württemberg. He identifies three issues: the ageing volunteer population, the underrepresentation of people with a migrant background, and the disproportionate number of academics volunteering.
René Korth has been active in the independent cultural scene for several years and has been chairman of the Neuer Ravensburger Kunstverein since 2020.
