Global warming is one of the biggest and most costly challenges of the 21st century. However, the level of public investment in Europe is not sufficient to combat it effectively, which is why private capital must be mobilised. The CSRD, which came into force in January 2024, therefore obliges a wide range of companies to report on sustainability. The data obtained is intended to support investors in the selection of financial products so that sustainable investments can be more easily identified and prioritised. This dissertation examines whether the new regulations actually provide useful sustainability information for investors and thus promote green investments.
