This volume contains the transcripts of lectures from an academic conference on urban and regional planning entitled ‘Erhaltung und Sicherung von Wohnraum – Fach- und Rechtsfragen der Planungs- und Genehmigungspraxis’, which took place at the Technical University of Berlin in March 2017.
In terms of content, the different presentations deal with the economic and fiscal aspects of the provision of residential housing as well as the planning and licensing procedures involved in developing and ensuring residential housing. The lectures focus on the potential and limitations of both planning and legal tools, especially concerning rent ceilings and the misuse of accommodation, and on reports on planning in practice.
