Ethik und Lebenswelt

Description
There is a methodological inconsistency in ethical thinking. On the one hand, we know about the good, the just or the virtuous because we experience it in the behaviour of those around us. On the other hand, our understanding of the good, just or virtuous is not sought through an analysis of the world as we experience it, but is instead constructed intellectually in the form of ethical and metaethical theories. The aim of this book is to show that - and how - morality, rights, goods and virtues are grounded in the world as it is experienced, and what this means for ethical reflexion. A separate section deals with the implications of this methodical approach for the conception of Christian ethics.
