Description
The European Union has to face extraordinary challenges: Brexit, the formation of Mega-Regionals, the deficiencies of the Economic and Monetary Union, the refugee and asylum crisis, to name only a few. It can be said, we are confronted with an existential crisis of the EU. Governments of the Member States are declaring themselves as pro-European but in reality national egoism is prevailing. The question must be posed what has gone wrong with the European integration process and where it should be intervened in order to safe this unique project that has brought Europe peace and economic welfare.
In this volume renowned lawyers from various European countries examine the present situation and develop various scenarios for the future.
With contributions by
Elisa Baroncini, Stephan Breitenmoser, Sabino Cassese, Giuseppe Cataldi, Thomas Cottier, Peter Hilpold, Gerhard Muzak and Andreas Witte.
