The anthology offers a comprehensive overview of the current common challenges for Germany and France to redefine the EU’s Mediterranean policy. The volume combines a comparative Franco-German perspective on the region with country studies of Egypt and Tunisia on the one hand with analyses of sectoral policies such as energy and migration on the other hand. German and French approaches to solve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict are also considered.
A special feature of this book is the enlarged perspective on the EU’s Mediterranean policy including analyses of the regional power Turkey and its new foreign policy, its domestic political-religious situation and Franco-German views on Turkey’s EU accession.
