The publication analyses the development of European competition law and its application in the air transport sector in the context of international dynamics. It focuses on the normative and economic characteristics of the sector and their impact on market structures and competitive conditions. Against this background, forms of cooperation such as alliances, joint ventures and mergers are examined from a legal and economic perspective. The assessment of competition restrictions and state aid policy by the European institutions will be analysed in the light of the challenges of international competitiveness and sustainable transformation. Finally, the role of ICAO and the EU in regulating the aviation market will be critically reviewed.
