Description
Most serious observers of the world politics believe that ties at all levels between Europe and Asia lag behind those between Europe and America. At the same time, Asia’s and Europe’s bilateral links with the United States are deep and lasting. This volume tries to light up the background of this asymmetric structure in the strategic triangle Europe-Asia-America by focusing on the examination of the mutual perceptions and expectations caused by the growing political interactions, economic interdependence and cultural exchanges between Europe and Asian. Twelve leading scholars in European and Asian Studies joined this book, outlining, respectively from their own viewpoints, the differences between the expectations, hopes, perceptions, as well as fears on the both sides.
