Fahrradinfrastruktur zwischen Städtebau und Marketing

Since around the year 2000, in the Netherlands bicycle infrastructure elements have been built in increasing numbers that stand out due to their high design standards and aesthetic qualities. These include bike paths, bridges and parking facilities. This study examines 26 such objects in the three study areas of Amsterdam, Nijmegen-Arnhem and Eindhoven. In addition, the history of Dutch cycling culture and the political and social conditions surrounding these constructions are examined, and a comparison with the situation in Germany is made.
