Fanprojekte in der Krise

Can social workers build trust if they can be compelled to give evidence in court? Drawing on the work of fan projects, this study examines the controversial issue of the lack of a right to refuse to give evidence in criminal proceedings in social work policy. Using the Karlsruhe fan project as an example, the author analyses the legal, professional, and ethical conflicts between protecting trust and the interests of criminal prosecution. Based on a review of literature and analysis of documents, the article discusses current calls for reform from academia and professional practice. It is intended for social work professionals, students and lecturers, as well as individuals interested in law, youth welfare and fan research.
