Islamic feminism is an integral part of Islamic-emancipatory movements. Within its framework, feminist and gender-sensitive Qur'anic exegesis has developed into a strong theological discipline, within which a variety of considerations on hermeneutics, interpretation strategies and methods have been developed. This book not only situates Islamic feminism within the Islamic emancipatory movements using the examples of Egypt and Morocco, but also attempts to categorize it along different hermeneutics.
