The financing and control of German political foundations has been undergoing change since the enactment of the Foundation Financing Act in December 2023 at the latest. This study presents German foundation financing in its current form and assesses it from both a constitutional and a legal policy perspective. It also shows where there is a need for further reform, drawing suggestions for reform from a comparison with foundation financing in the European Union, among other things.
