Gemeinnützige Arbeit als Alternative zur Ersatzfreiheitsstrafe bei obdachlosen Personen

One group of people has been neglected in the discussion about avoiding imprisonment for fine-default so far: people living in the streets. This work focuses on these people and uses guided interviews to analyze the restrictions they face in performing community service and the possibilities for optimization. The study highlights both obstacles that are inherent in the world of homelessness itself and those that are rooted in the attitudes, motives, and behaviors of homeless individuals who have been fined. Despite the heterogeneity of the people involved, there is considerable scope for making community service more accessible to those people.
