Gender Studies

This introductory work focuses on the central theories of gender studies, whose explanations are embedded in historical developments, political debates and social contexts. To further illustrate the application and relevance of these theories, the authors discuss media and video materials, links to which are provided. The last two chapters contextualise the content already presented by explaining the particularities of feminist epistemologies and methodologies. In this way, a holistic understanding of gender studies as an academic discipline can be demonstrated. The book is aimed at students of the social and cultural sciences as well as all others with an interdisciplinary interest.
