Gestalten der Zukunft

This volume is a multidisciplinary collection of articles exploring the temporal and material relationship between the future and the present. Contributors examine ideological fixations, the acoustics, narratives, and reading modes of the future, as well as the consequences of heteronomous versus self-determined futures. Central to this is the assumption that futures emerge within social practices and cultural narratives. The emerging shapes of the future are examined in their roles as societal and individual points of orientation, opening them up for discussion and reinterpretation.
